CHANDLER – GILBERT COMMUNITY COLLEGE
From May – July 2020 Lori assisted the marketing team at Chandler Gilbert Community College with a number of digital projects ranging from Juneteenth and Black Lives Matter, web assets for their new Drupal site, as well as digital graphics supporting virtual graduation during COVID-19, and other rapidly changing priorities.
Lori assisted the creative team at Origami Owl—a B2B and B2C custom jewelry company. During summer 2019 she worked on designs for large-format convention signage, social media and web assets, as well as print projects. From November 2019 – March 2020 she was invited back to help with numerous holiday promotion and L.E.A.D. 2020 convention projects, including PowerPoint presentations and promotional web assets and social media.
ASU ENTERPRISE PARTNERS
From late 2016 through March 2019 Lori created high-quality visual communication solutions for ASU Enterprise Partners—a nonprofit organization which raises and invests resources for the benefit of Arizona State University. There she collaborated and strategized with directors, project managers and team members to create thoughtful, branded solutions for the ASU Foundation, donor relations, financial, and real estate teams. She art directed, designed and managed projects including wall displays, unique donor gifts, high-caliber invitations, customized proposals and presentations, brochures, annual reports and photo shoots.
A few highlights from her work at ASU Enterprise Partners:
- Art directed, designed and produced a $12,000, high-profile art installation in the $1M remodeled 6th Floor of the Fulton Center. This “wall of philanthropy” won a gold award with the Western States Printing Alliance and a certificate of merit with the Premier Print Awards in Pittsburgh in 2018.
- Created a professional custom presentation box used to house case statement brochures for Campaign ASU 2020 development professionals for presenting to specific donors.
- Designed and elevated ASU-branded collateral for ASU’s Foundation, President’s Club and Women and Philanthropy, and was the most featured graphic designer in ASU’s monthly “What’s on Press” for 2 years
- Art directed a photo shoot of ASU’s Washington DC building with architectural photographer, Alan Karchmer and architectural firm CORE in July 2018.
For most of 2016 Lori assisted the creative advertising “store experience” team at the corporate headquarters for PetSmart as a senior designer contractor. Her contract was extended multiple times. Projects ranged from digital billboards, ad rack flyers and in-store signage to promotional banners, A-frame sidewalk signs, bagstuffers, and a myriad of other projects. PetSmart has retail stores across the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada.
From 2009 forward, Lori has expanded her professional skills and networked with others who recognize the popularity of WordPress—an open source content management system (CMS), which makes up 30% of all websites on the internet. In 2012 and 2013 Lori contributed volunteer graphic design services for WordCampPHX—an annual sold-out weekend that attracts 700+ avid WordPress fans from all over the U.S. to downtown Chandler. Lori was part of the team selecting speakers for the 2020 WordCamp PHX. She also has been an assistant organizer for the AZ WordPress Meetup Group (2013-2016).
