Most of the web design examples shown in this portfolio are WordPress sites [with the exception of Temple Emanuel of Tempe (emanueloftempe.org), which is a Joomla (CMS) site.] WordPress is an open source content management system (CMS) which makes up 20% of all websites on the internet.
Lori is a contributing member of the local WordPress community. She expands her professional skills while networking with others who recognize the popularity of WordPress. She is an assistant organizer for the AZ WordPress Meetup Group, which meets monthly at Gangplank in Chandler, and attends additional local WordPress meetups to keep up-to-date.
Since 2012 Lori has contributed to the planning of WordCampPHX – an annual sold-out weekend that attracts 700+ avid WordPress fans from all over the U.S., as well as international attendees to downtown Chandler. For WordCampPHX 2013 Lori designed and produced all the print collateral, the website design, as well as the banner signage. In addition, she assisted with the graphic design for WordCampPHX 2012.
Owner Sabrina Almazan named her company Aloha Pet Services “because ‘aloha’ means love and that is exactly how I feel about animals. Aloha is also a greeting in Hawaii. It means hello, as well as good-bye. When you say good-bye to your pets, we say hello!” With that in mind, fun, whimsical and friendly makes sense for the online presence for Aloha Pet Services.
“Da$htone” – a Chicago hip-hop musician – has a 20-something millennial generation audience and following. This site needed to feature music and performance videos, as well as access to his music for downloads. Social media was key, so links to these accounts needed to be prominently displayed on the home page. Logo and business card were also designed by Lori.
This WordPress website was created for K. Carolyn Hogan, D.D.S., a dentist in Phoenix, AZ. The site includes information about the staff, resource pages for insurance information, as well as links to many of the dental specialists Dr. Hogan refers patients to. Dr. Hogan’s logo identity was carefully crafted and applied to business cards, appointment cards, reminder postcards and exterior signage. Dr. Hogan is accepting new patients: (602) 954-2451.
This comprehensive 101-page Joomla website was created for Temple Emanuel of Tempe and launched July 2013. Temple Emanuel of Tempe is a reform congregation that honors tradition. Founded in 1976, this congregation provides a Jewish spiritual home for more than 550 families in the East Valley area of greater Phoenix.
A simplified 2-page splash site in preparation for the full site launch in November 2013. This WordPress responsive website had a shelf-life of approximately 3 months until full site was built and sales office was set up and ready to accommodate sales inquiries.
WordPress responsive website design and planning for Generations at Agritopia located in Gilbert, AZ. Generations is in the heart of the charming “Agritopia” community and will offer senior living apartments and various levels of care, such as memory care and respite care. It is scheduled to open July 2014. Special thanks to collaborators Brian Murphy, (founder of DivyWeb, previously with XpleoMedia) and the team at Xpleo Media for the development and customization.
A 501(c)(3) organization, the Phoenix Philanthropists enrich lives and support organizations in the Phoenix metropolitan community by connecting giving individuals with volunteer activities and other opportunities to contribute their time, talents and resources. Lori collaborated with Carol Stambaugh of Tech Tools, LLC to create this responsive WordPress 13-page website, which included features such as meetup.com calendar information and a blog populated by volunteer feedback submissions.
Custom web design for To Your Door Spa And Salon, provides salon services to the elderly in nursing homes, community centers, and in private homes in the Portland, Oregon area. Services include hair care, manicures, pedicures, massage therapy and facials. This site was created with large fonts for enhanced readability for its senior audience.
