WordCamp Phoenix 2012 will be happening in downtown Chandler, AZ February 24-26, 2012. The event is more than a week away and yet all 600 tickets have been sold out! This event is geared to all levels of WordPress experience and will be an incredible weekend of learning. There will be amazing speakers, such as Lisa Sabin-Wilson is the author of the best-selling WordPress For Dummies and owner of E.Webscapes, a blog and web site design and development company specializing in premium WordPress themes, made to order to your specifications.

Back by popular demand, WordCamp will be sporting four “full day” classes on Friday February 24th taking WordPress enthusiasts of all experience levels into the nitty gritty. In order to keep the class size intimate, they’re asking attendees to register separately for these classes. Classes are free to the public, however registration is reserved for WordCamp attendees until January 29th. Currently there is only space left in WP101.

Saturday will have e a pretty progressive track structure this year. There will be a track to “Jumpstart” you from any level of WordPress experience. There will be a “Think Tank” track which will showcase insane case studies of WordPress awesomeness. Finally, there will be an entire track dedicated to “Verticals” which will give specific insights to WordPress users from the most popular industries.

The Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort has graciously offered to extend their amazing discount on rooms until Feb 17. The after party is going to be pretty much amazing, so attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the special $100 DISCOUNT and book a room, even Phoenix-area residents.

Players Sports Bar’s opened its new second location in San Marcos, California on July 7, 2011. When the original Players Sports Bar in San Diego, CA was purchased, the signage already on the building was the logo used on all collateral. With the opening of this new location, the investment of new signage, menus, business cards, and many other applications warranted a refresh to this previously outdated logo.

The photo slideshow (above) shows logo applications to the concrete floor of their newly remodeled space, as well as an exterior illuminated sign. Cheers!

Temple Emanuel
of Tempe (AZ)
www.emanueloftempe.org

July’s site of the month belongs to Temple Emanuel of Tempe, AZ. Here are some aspects of the site that impressed us (RJ Web Builder — A Service for the Union for Reform Judaism):

Temple Emanuel’s grey and blue color scheme is very clean, and really highlights the photos that are used. This is especially true of the smiling faces on the homepage, which let people know that Temple Emanuel is a welcoming place. Further down the homepage is a great use of the Banner Ad program. Each image is linked, and colorfully highlights pages of particular interest. The way that images of documents are used instead of just links is a nice touch, including the newsletter. The blue headers on each of the secondary pages create a consistent look throughout the site, as do the many images and slideshows, with dates and descriptions below them.

Pages to Note:

Our Staff
Features a beautiful graphical layout for each member of the executive staff.

Support
Uses images and descriptions for certain partnership programs that help the congregation raise funds.

B’nei Mitzvah
Using the embedded audio player from Podbean.com, this page is an invaluable resource for students preparing for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

Preschool Program
Contains lots of information, highlighting Temple Emanuel’s exceptional daycare staff, how Temple Emanuel is committed to to meeting each child’s needs, and so on. There is also a great slideshow, with a very nice header image, and an image link to download the brochure.

Activities
Features a very nice photo slideshow and information on the range of groups and activities that Temple Emanuel offers.
